Rhythm and Vines impressive line up included: The Presets, Kimbra, Knife Party, Netsky, Chase & Status (DJ set), Mark Ronson (DJ set), Hospital Records artists featuring High Contrast, Logistics, Camo & Krooked, S.P.Y, MC Wrec, Maya Jane Coles, Disclosure LIVE, Tame Impala, The Black Seeds, Chali 2na, P-Money, Ruby Frost, Parachute Youth, and Five Mile Town to name a few.
Hi, my name is Kaz Kostiuk-Warren and last year in October I found out I was one of the lucky winners for the Air New Zealand/Rhythm and Vines epic prize pack. This was great news, especially considering we were planning on going down anyway! I decided to invite my best friend, Aimee Gilchrist along to come with me. After a very exciting 2 months, the time had finally come and we jumped on an Air New Zealand plane to Gisborne.
We stayed in one of the Wildernest “Glamping” tents which was amazing. Glamping tents are huge with a queen bed inside, and it even had a chandelier, and best of all, flushing toilets! We were only a few minutes walk into the festival, where we enjoyed a huge range of acts from all over the world, our favorites being Icona Pop, Six60, Kimbra and Mark Ronson. The highlight of the trip though was definitely the helicopter ride around Gisborne on New Years Eve. We got an overview look of all around the festival, as long as the Gisborne landscape and coast which was incredible.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Air New Zealand, Rhythm and Vines, and the staff at Wildernest for looking after us while we were there. We can’t wait to come back next year!
